I have been conducting field, geochemical, and structural studies of the lower crust of the Josephine ophiolite (location map), northern California and southern Oregon with Dr. Greg Harper, SUNY Albany. That's Greg and Celeste Thomson on the stump of a felled Giant Redwood, just west of the ophiolite. For more information on some of the field and structural aspects of the lower crust of the Josephine click on one of the following from an AGU poster: Models for magma chambers at oceanic spreading centers Background on the Josephine Ophiolite Field and Structural Observations Strain Patterns in the Lower Crust Can Josephine tell us anything about slow to intermediate spreading centers?
